Quest Board Game Resource
Board games are once again becoming a popular trend among young adults and when I say board games, I'm not talking about the ones we played as kids like Scrabble, Clue, or Chutes and Ladders. I am talking about board games aimed at adults like Elder Sign, Settlers of Catan, and Betrayal at House on the Hill. There is a strong developing market for these games thanks to Geek and Sundry's Tabletop on YouTube. Because of this strong developing market I created an app that helps adults who are just starting their collection find the right board games for them and their party.
Quest is an board game resource app that shows users different board games depending on what they enter in the search box. If users are looking for a co-op game for 4 people, this app will show them all the games that fit that description while providing a detailed profile for each game including pictures of the game itself. The app also allows for more experienced players to instantly search for the board game of choice which brings them directly to the game page. Other features of this app include the ability to save games users like for later, browse through list of games based on the play style they are looking for, and see recommendations for new board games the user hasn't seen before.
There are two parts to this project. There is the brand development of Quest and then the interface development of the app itself. The goal for the brand was to create a modern and asthetically pleasing look that would be appealing to a wide age demographic. I decided on Quest because it really fits what the app does as far as find board games for people to collect and play while not outright saying "we are a tabletop game app".
